Senator Keri Heintzeman statement on Gov. Walz’s executive order against mining in northern Minnesota

Senator Keri Heintzeman issued the following statement in response to Gov. Tim Walz’s executive order against mining in northern Minnesota.

“This is just another desperate act of a failed governor trying to keep his name in the headlines for something other than the disastrous fraud he has allowed to run rampant. Minnesota has one of the most rigorous permitting processes in the country. Gov. Walz knows full well that we can protect the environment and mine safely. I know folks up here are frustrated that Democrats continue to use their livelihoods for these political games. Whoever holds that office next needs to prioritize building up northern Minnesota’s economy and supporting the families who call this area home.”
